The 2019 Pittsburgh Pirates season was the franchise's 138th season overall, 133rd season as a member of the National League, and 19th season at PNC Park. The Pirates were eliminated from postseason contention after a 14–1 loss to the Cubs on September 14, 2019.[2] Manager Clint Hurdle was fired an hour before the start of the final game of the 2019 season.
