The 2021 Toronto Blue Jays season was the franchise's 45th season in Major League Baseball.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated travel restrictions, the team played their first 21 games at their spring training home of TD Ballpark in Dunedin, Florida,[1] instead of returning to their normal home of Rogers Centre in Toronto, with the hope of moving back once Canada–U.S. travel restrictions are eased. Starting in June, the team then played 23 home games at Sahlen Field in Buffalo, New York (their home in 2020).[2][3] On July 30, the Blue Jays returned to Rogers Centre for the first time since the 2019 season.[4]
The Blue Jays finished the regular season with a 91–71 record, giving the team their best win percentage since 2015, but did not qualify for the postseason. The team finished in fourth place in the American League East, one game behind both the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, which secured the AL's two wild card spots.
