The game holds the record[2] for the most combined points scored in an NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) regulation game with 140 total points,[3] breaking the previous record (137 points, set in a 2016 game played between Syracuse and Pittsburgh) by three points.[4]
