The 2023 Newark and Sherwood District Council election took place on 4 May 2023, to elect all 39 members of Newark and Sherwood District Council in Nottinghamshire, England.

Prior to the election the council had been under Conservative majority control, being led by David Lloyd. Following the results, the Conservatives lost the council to no overall control, and David Lloyd lost his seat.[1][2] The Labour group leader, Paul Peacock, was appointed leader of the council at the subsequent annual council meeting on 23 May 2023 with support from the Liberal Democrats and many of the independent councillors.[3]
