The 2024 Ballon d'Or will be the 68th annual ceremony of the Ballon d'Or, presented by France Football, recognising the best footballers in the world in the 2023–24 season. For the third time in the history of the award, it will be given based on the results of the season instead of the calendar year. This is the period from 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2024. The nominees were announced on 4 September 2024 and ceremony will take place on 28 October 2024.[2][3] Two new accolades are set to be awarded: Men's Coach of the Year and Women's Coach of the Year, recognising the contribution of coaches to success on the pitch.[2] UEFA will co-organize the Ballon d'Or gala for the first time, with France Football retaining the voting system and the Ballon d'Or name.[2][4]
