Proposition 3, titled Constitutional Right to Marry, is a California ballot proposition and legislative statutes that will be voted on in the 2024 general election on November 5.[1] The proposition, if passed, will repeal Proposition 8 passed during the 2008 general election and amend the state constitution to declare that the "right to marry [for same sex couples] is a fundamental right". This would ensure that same-sex couples would have the right to marry in California in case the United States Supreme Court ever withdraws that federal right.[2][3]
