2759 Idomeneus /dəˈmnəs/ is a dark Jupiter trojan from the Greek camp, approximately 55 kilometers (34 miles) in diameter. It was discovered on 14 April 1980, by American astronomer Edward Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station near Flagstaff, Arizona, in the United States, and later named after Idomeneus from Greek mythology.[1] The D-type asteroid from the Jovian background population belongs to the 80 largest Jupiter trojans. It is a suspected binary system and potentially a slow rotator with a rotation period of 479 hours.[12]
