The 6th National Assembly of Laos was elected by a popular vote on 30 April 2006 and was replaced by the 7th National Assembly on 15 June 2011.[1] Thongsing Thammavong was elected president of the assembly and held that post until 23 December 2010, when he became prime minister, getting replaced by the then vice president, Pany Yathotou.[2]
