Amarananda Somasiri Jayawardena (3 August 1936[1] – 29 May 2018) was a Sri Lankan economist and civil servant. He was the former Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Finance & Treasury and an Alternate Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He died on 29 May 2018 at the age of 81[2] or 82.[3]
