Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed (Laftagareen) عبدالعزيز حسن محمد (Somali: Cabdicasiis Xasan Maxamed) is the fourth president of the South West State of Somalia who was elected by representatives of South West regional state assembly on December 19th, 2018.[1] In 2019, Laftagareen had a committee appointed to deal with security issues.[2] Laftagareen had close ties with former president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, in which he served as a minister before becoming the president of the regional state.

He completed his primary, middle and high school education in Luuq distric, Gedo region in the southwest of the country. He was a school teacher in Luuq. He studied at a university in Mogadishu. Abdiaziz Laftagareen has held many positions in previous governments.

Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed is married with four children, who live in Turkiye.
