Afsar Bahini (also known as Afsar Battalion)[1][2][3] was a sub-group within the Mukti Bahini during the Bangladesh Liberation War. Major Afsaruddin Ahmed organized freedom fighters in Mymensingh to form this battalion. This battalion collected arms secretly from the Pakistani Army and developed liberated area, in the region. The group had 4,500 members.[4] Major Afsaruddin Ahmed was the Chief of Command of this group.[5][6][7][3]
