After the Dark (also titled The Philosophers outside the U.S.)[4][2] is a science fiction psychological thriller film written and directed by John Huddles. It stars Sophie Lowe, Rhys Wakefield, Bonnie Wright, James D'Arcy, Daryl Sabara, and Freddie Stroma.[5] The film premiered in competition at Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival on 7 July 2013.[6][7] The film was nominated for “Best Motion Picture” in 2013 at the world's top fantasy film festival (The Sitges Film Festival, or Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya).[8] The film also premiered at Fantasy Filmfest on 21 August 2013.[9] The film was released on February 7, 2014 in the United States.[2][10][11]
