Agios Epiktitos (Greek: Άγιος Επίκτητος; Turkish: Çatalköy) is a village in Cyprus, located 6 km (4 mi) east of Kyrenia. Agios Epiktitos, is under the de facto control of Northern Cyprus. The village was named after an ascetic monk who fled the Saracens in Palestine in the 9th Century and was a colleague of Saint Ambrose of Kyrenia who gave his name to a village close by.

The Turkish Cypriot Agios Epiktitos Municipality was founded in 1980.[3]

  1. ^ In 1983, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus unilaterally declared independence from the Republic of Cyprus. The de facto state is not recognised by any UN state except Turkey.
