Naseer Ahamed (born 16 April 1961) is a Sri Lankan politician serving as the Governor[1] of the North Western Province, Sri Lanka. Naseer Ahamed has been active in Sri Lanka's political scene since 1994, having held various positions such as Cabinet Minister of Environment[2], Member of Parliament from the Batticaloa district[3], Chief Minister of the Eastern Province[4] and more.

Known for being part of the new government, under the leadership of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, that supported Sri Lanka in overcoming[5] its political and economic crisis. Naseer Ahamed has played a key role in developing sectors such as, energy[6] economic development[7], environmental conservation[8], international relations[9], eastern provincial development[10][11], youth[12], representation, rights and more. He continues to influence Sri Lanka's political landscape through various ongoing efforts and initiatives.
