On 1 July 2024, an Air Europa Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, operating as Air Europa Flight 045, on a scheduled international passenger flight from Madrid to Montevideo, experienced strong turbulence. The aircraft later diverted to Greater Natal International Airport, Brazil.[1] 40 passengers were injured with 10 hospitalized.[2]
