Akre (Kurdish: ئاکرێ, romanizedAkrê,[2][3] Arabic: عقرة,[4] Syriac: ܥܩܪ, romanizedAqra')[5] is a city located in Kurdistan Region of Iraq. it is part of the Duhok Governorate, Akre is known for its celebrations of Newroz.[6][7][8]
