Akron Public Schools is a school district serving students in Akron, Ohio, United States, and nearby communities. It is located in the northeastern part of Ohio, less than 40 mi (64 km) south of Cleveland and 20 mi (32 km) north of Canton. The district encompasses 54.4 sq mi (141 km2) and includes, as of the 2024–2025 school year, 8 high schools, 9 middle schools, 31 elementary schools, and 3 administration buildings. Approximately 20,000 students are enrolled. The district employs 2800 full-time and 1700 part-time employees. The district's annual budget exceeds $559 million.[3]
