James Alton "Al" Cannon Jr. (born October 9, 1946) is an American law enforcement officer, attorney and politician. He served as sheriff of Charleston County, South Carolina, from February 1988 until January 2021.[1] He was defeated by Democratic challenger Kristin Graziano in the November 2020 election.[2]
