Aleksinsky District (Russian: Але́ксинский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the twenty-three in Tula Oblast, Russia.[1] It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 982.5 square kilometers (379.3 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the town of Aleksin.[1] Population: 74,326 (2010 Census);[3] 13,350 (2002 Census);[8] 14,727 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Aleksin accounts for 83.1% of the district's total population.[3]
