Alexander Nikolayevich Vertinsky (Russian: Александр Николаевич Вертинский, March 20 [O.S. March 8] 1889 – May 21, 1957) was a Russian[1] and Soviet artist, poet, singer, composer, cabaret artist and actor who exerted seminal influence on the Russian tradition of artistic singing.
