Alwin Nikolais (November 25, 1910 – May 8, 1993) was an American choreographer, dancer, composer, musician, and teacher.[1] He had created the Nikolais Dance Theatre,[2] and was known for his self-designed innovative costume, lighting and production design.[3][4] Nikolais gave the world a new vision of dance and was named the "father of multi-media theater."[1]
