Amatenango del Valle is a town and municipality in the Mexican state of Chiapas, in southern Mexico. It covers an area of 236 km2 (91 sq mi).
As of 2010, the municipality had a total population of 8,728,[1] up from 6,559 as of 2005.[2]
As of 2010, the town of Amatenango del Valle had a population of 4,661,[1] up from 3,351 as of 2005.[2] Other than the town of Amatenango del Valle, the municipality had 60 localities, none of which had a population over 1,000.[1]
