Anbernic is a Chinese manufacturer of handheld retrocomputing devices. These devices typically run a version of Android or Linux and allow users to play historical video games through software emulation.
Its systems have often met with acclaim, considered among the best retrocomputing devices released from 2020 to 2022.[1][2][3] Due to their popularity, a number of open source projects provide custom firmware for the devices, adding additional features and extended support. These include ArkOS,[4] AmberElec[5] and ROCKNIX.[6]
