Andreevca (Moldovan Cyrillic and Russian: Андреевка, romanized: Andreyevka; Ukrainian: Андріївка, romanized: Andriyivka) is a commune in Transnistria, Moldova. It is composed of three villages: Andreevca, Pîcalova (Пикалово, Пыкалово) and Șmalena (Шмалена).[1] It has since 1990 been administered as a part of the breakaway Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR). According to the 2004 census, the population of the village was 633 inhabitants, of which 38 (6%) were Moldovans (Romanians), 553 (87.36%) Ukrainians and 25 (3.94%) Russians.[2]
