Ankers Bower (also Anker's Bower,[2] Ankers' Bower,[3] Ankersbower,[4] or Anchor's Bower[5]) is a townland and hill in St. Mary's civil parish in the barony of Brawny, County Westmeath, Ireland.[6] It is partly within the former urban district of Athlone.[4][7] The name may derive from John Ankers, who was vicar of St. Mary's in 1608.[3]
