Asteracanthus (from Greek: ἀστήρ aster, 'star' and Greek: ἄκανθα akantha, 'spine')[1] is an extinct genus of hybodont, known from the Middle Jurassic (Bathonian) to the Early Cretaceous (Valanginian).[2]
