Azerbaijani nationalism (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan milliyətçiliyi), also referred to as Azerbaijanism (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycançılıq) originated as a result of the Pan-Turkist agenda expressed during the October Revolution and historiography under the Soviet Union.
Azerbaijani nationalism is characterized by irredentism directed at Iran, Nagorno-Karabakh, and portions of Armenia, particularly the Syunik Province.
