Baharul Alam is an officer of the Bangladesh Police and currently serves as the 31st Inspector General of Police. He was appointed to the position on November 20, 2024.[1][2] Prior to his appointment as IGP, he served as the head of hospital at ICDDR,B.[3] He was former Director General of Rapid Action Battalion and former chief of Special Branch.[4]
