Balkampet Yellamma temple is a Hindu goddess temple located at Balkampet in Hyderabad. "Ammalaki Amma Yellama" This temple is swayambhoo which is located in "under water" below 10 feet above ground level. Every year in Ashadamasam 1st week of Tuesday kalyanotsavam is conducted by Temple authorities and on the immediate day Ammavari radhayatra will take places with great positive energy. This Temple is very famous for Bonaalu which take place on every Tuesday's, Friday's & Sundays, these are the peek days for visting temple by devotees and for offering Bonaalu. This is the only places where "Bonam" will be offered 24*7.
The Yellama Ammavaru is visible on "Rock solid" which is located under the water. Currently, the Ammavaru is made of gold covering the exact area. The water is various auspicious, the water helps in treating various viral diseases, skin diseases. Ammavaru also allow us to stay away from various problems in life. You can see "Akhanda Jyothi" which is glowing continuously. Also, the Yellamma goddess keep her eyes open protecting all devotees from various evils.
Apart from Yellamma Goddess there is also Pochamma goddess, Naga devatha, Ganesh vigraham inside temple, 20 feet Ammavaru on the temple premises is great attraction. There is also Yellama devastanam complex which has rooms to perform Bonum.
Around Yellamma Temple there are various other Temples like Nalla Pochamma temple (Near B.K Guda Park), Mahankali temple, Gadi Maisamma temple, Sona bai Temple (Ameerpet), Katta Maisamma Temple (Begumpet), Ganesh Temple (Adjacent lane to Balkampet Petrol Bunk). Balkampet, Ameerpet, Begumpet places form "Golden Traingle" of Hyderabad and secunderabad Twin cities. Yellama Temple is in between this golden Triangle protecting the twin cities.
Yellamma Kalyanam: Every year in Ashadamasam 1st week of Tuesday kalyanotsavam is being conducted by Temple authorities and on the immediate day "Ammavari Radhayatra" will be taken place covering areas across Balkampet, S.R Nagar, B.k guda. During Ashadamasa Kalyanam devotees come from various states like Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and across districts from Telangana. Devotees arrive two days ahead to participate in kalyanotsavam. Yellamma ammavaru have devotees around the world in various countries like USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Africa, Australia, Newzeland, Indonesia, Srilanka, Japan, Russia, Nepal, Bhutan. Malasya and Singapore.
Founder Family members: "Kothapally" is the surname of the family who are the founder family members of Yellamma temple. The family belongs to Goud's community. The founder family members reside currently in Balkampet, B.K Guda. They were the then "Patwaris" under Nizam government. Also, they are the freedom fighters of Golconda sultanate.
