Bayevsky District (Russian: Ба́евский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the krai. The area of the district is 2,740 square kilometers (1,060 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Bayevo.[1] Population: 10,979 (2010 Census);[2] 13,601 (2002 Census);[5] 14,963 (1989 Soviet census).[6] The population of Bayevo accounts for 42.9% of the district's total population.[2]
