Bazarnosyzgansky District (Russian: Базарносызганский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Ulyanovsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 825.2 square kilometers (318.6 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Bazarny Syzgan.[1] Population: 10,083 (2010 Census);[4] 11,363 (2002 Census).[8] The population of Bazarny Syzgan accounts for 56.7% of the district's total population.[4]
