Beaujolais nouveau (/ˌbʒəˈl nˈv/ BOH-zhə-LAY noo-VOH, French: [boʒɔlɛ nuvo]) is a red wine made from Gamay grapes produced in the Beaujolais region of France. It is a vin de primeur, fermented just a few weeks before being released for sale on the third Thursday of November. Distributors famously race to get the first bottles to different global markets.[1]
