The Belgian squad consisted of 52 athletes competing in 16 sports: aquatics (swimming), archery, athletics, canoeing, cycling, equestrian, gymnastics, hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, triathlon and volleyball.^[2]
