Bilkees Idrees Latīf (c. 1930 – 27 October 2017) was an Indian social worker and writer from Telangana,[1][2] known for her work in the slums of India.[3] She was a founding member of INTACH.[4]
She is the author of several articles and five books, including Essential Andhra Cookbook,[5] Fragrance of Forgotten Years[3] and The Ladder of His Life : Biography of Air Chief Marshal Idris Latif.[6] The Government of India awarded her the fourth-highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2009, for her contributions to society.[7]
