Biʾr ʿAlī is a village in eastern Yemen. It is located in the Shabwah Governorate. The name means "Ali's Well" in Arabic. In pre-Islamic times, the port was called Qanīʾ (Qane, Cana, Ancient Greek: Κάνη).[1][2][3][4]
