is a Philippine drama television series broadcast byIt tackles the story of Budoy, who is mentally challenged, and his family, relationships and social issues.[1][2] It stars Gerald Anderson,[3][4][5][6] Jessy Mendiola[7][8] and Enrique Gil.[9] The theme song was "Saan Darating Ang Umaga" sung by Angeline Quinto produced by Jonathan Manalo.[10]
It is the third Philippine television series to be shot in high definition format after Rounin and Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.
The show premiered from October 10, 2011 to March 9, 2012, replacing Guns and Roses with the new primetime drama series Dahil sa Pag-ibig taking its place the following week. The show is notable for the main character's catchphrases such as "Hello, ako Budoy!" (Hello, I'm Budoy) and "Jackie, gusto mo BJ?" (Jackie, you like BJ?), with the latter phrase being mistaken as a double-meaning line.
Budoy has been developed by Mga Anghel na Walang Langit, Princess Sarah, May Bukas Pa, Agua Bendita, Momay, Mutya, and 100 Days to Heaven due to genre of family and religious-oriented drama series where Dreamscape Entertainment released these type of series since 2005. It was co-existed with 100 Days to Heaven from October 10 to November 18, 2011 and Ikaw ay Pag-Ibig from November 21, 2011 to January 27, 2012. It was succeeded by Dahil sa Pag-ibig in 2012.
