The Canon EOS R1 (development announced on 15 May 2024)[2] is a full-frame mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera produced by Canon. The EOS R1 will be Canon's first flagship EOS R System model.[3][4][1]

The EOS R1 features:

  • a new ‘DIGIC Accelerator’ image processor that supplements the existing DIGIC X processor
  • a new CMOS sensor
  • In-Camera Upscaling DIGIC Accelerator processing now enables in-camera upscaling using deep learning to double the number of pixels horizontally and vertically from 24MP to 96MP image in about 10 seconds.
  • improved subject recognition and tracking accuracy
  • improved noise reduction.

Canon announced the full specification on July 17, 2024 with deliveries expected in November 2024.[5][6]
