Carnaxide (European Portuguese pronunciation: [kɐɾnɐˈʃiðɨ]) is a former civil parish in the municipality of Oeiras, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Carnaxide e Queijas.[1] The population in 2011 was 25,911,[2] in an area of 6.51 km2.[3] It was elevated to town on August 16, 1991. Having first appeared in official documentation in the 14th century, its existence goes back as far as 13th century.
