The Castle of Mey (also known for a time as Barrogill Castle)[1] is located in Caithness, on the north coast of Scotland, about 6 miles (10 km) west of John o' Groats. In fine weather there are views from the castle north to the Orkney Islands.[2]
BARROGILL Castle, originally known as the Castle of Mey, one of the ancient seats of the earls of Caithness, is still a ... and 1572, when the earl granted a charter of the Mey lands to his second son William, who became the first Laird of Mey.
