Cecilia Bencianovna Banu (Russian: Цецилия Бенциановна Бану, pronounced [tsɨˈtsɨlʲɪə bʲɪntsɨˈanəvnə bɐˈnu]; 13 March 1911 – 11 January 1998), née Bakaleyshchik[1] (Бакалейщик [bəkɐˈlʲejɕːɪk]), was a scholar of Iranian studies, a poet and a translator from Persian to Russian. She is best known for her multi-volume translation of the Shahnameh of Ferdowsi. She was the wife of Abulqosim Lohuti.
