The Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) is a progressive non-profit legal advocacy organization based in New York City. It was founded in 1966; its founders included Arthur Kinoy and William Kunstler.
CCR litigated the landmark case in the United States Supreme Court of Rasul v. Bush (2004), establishing the right of detainees at Guantanamo Bay detainment camp to challenge their status in US courts and gain legal representation. Following the 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel, CCR sought a court order to stop U.S. aid to Israel, alleging that Israel was engaging in a genocide against Palestinians. The case was dismissed on grounds of jurisdiction.[1][2]
