Central Bus Station, popularly known as Central Bus Stand, is one of the bus termini of Trichy, located near Cantonment,[2] the other being the Chatram Bus Stand.[3]

The terminus spread over an area of 4.5 acres (1.8 ha) is managed by the Department of Transport (Tamil Nadu). Being a major transit point in the central region of the state,[1] it experiences heavy traffic of about 2,200 buses daily.[4] These buses serve about one lakh (100,000) passengers every day.[5]
