Reverend Charles Augustus Goodrich (1790 – June 4, 1862) was an American author and Congregational minister, who popularized the motto "a place for everything and everything in its place".[citation needed] His uncle was Chauncey Goodrich; his siblings included a brother Samuel Griswold Goodrich,[1] and a sister, Abigail Goodrich Whittlesey.
