Charles David Metcalf (19 June 1933 – 29 October 2021) served in the United States Air Force for 36 years, retiring as a major general. He went on to serve as the director of the National Museum of the United States Air Force from 1996 to 2010. He was a well-known civic leader in the Dayton, Ohio, area.[1]
