The Chihuahua[a] (or Spanish: Chihuahueño) is a Mexican breed of toy dog. It is named for the Mexican state of Chihuahua and is the smallest dog breed in the world, as well as one of the longest life expectancy of up to 20 years+.[5] It is usually kept as a companion animal or for showing.
