Chuvashia,[a] officially known as Chuvash Republic — Chuvashia,[b] is a republic of Russia located in Eastern Europe. It is the homeland of the Chuvash people, a Turkic ethnic group. Its capital is the city of Cheboksary. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 1,251,619.[12]
