Claude Jutra (French pronunciation: [klod ʒytʁa]; March 11, 1930 – November 5, 1986) was a Canadian actor, film director, and screenwriter.[1]
The Prix Jutra, and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television's Claude Jutra Award, were named in his honour because of his importance in Quebec cinema history.[2] The awards were renamed in 2016 following the publication of allegations that he had sexually abused children during his lifetime, as were streets named for him.[3]
