Cres (Italian: Cherso; Ancient Greek: Κρέψα;[3] Latin: Crepsa[3]) is a town located on the island of Cres which is directly off the Istrian Peninsula and in the Kvarner Gulf off the northern coast of Croatia. As of 2021, the town had a population of 2,716 inhabitants, which makes it the largest municipality on the island.[2]
