Since 1960, the U.S. state of Ohio has seen a wide variation in the frequency of violent crimes reported. In 2014, there were 33,030 violent crimes reported - the lowest rate the state has seen since 1973.[1] In 2012 there were 405,262 crimes reported in Ohio, including 478 murders.[2] In 2014 there were 357,558 crimes reported, including 464 murders.[2]
