D414 is the main state road on Pelješac peninsula in Croatia connecting towns of Ston and Orebić and ferry ports in Orebić, Trpanj and Prapratno, from where Jadrolinija ferries fly to islands of Korčula and Mljet as well as the mainland port of Ploče, connecting to the D118, D413 and D123 state roads respectively.[1] The road is 64.7 km (40.2 mi) long.[2]
The road, as well as all other state roads in Croatia, is managed and maintained by Hrvatske ceste, a state-owned company.[3]
Following the construction of the Pelješac Bridge and Ston bypass, which became part of the D8 expressway, in 2023 the D414 was truncated by 20 kilometers, and now it only runs from Orebić to the Zaradeže interchange with D8. The section continuing to Ston and the former eastern terminus at Zaton Doli was demoted to county road status (Županijska cesta), and bears the new designation Ž6295.[4]
